Broadband & Telecommunications

The importance of broadband connectivity in Indian Country cannot be understated. Our firm has extensive experience in assisting tribes with navigating the regulatory and infrastructure challenges of improving and expanding their broadband and telecommunications access and capabilities. We have experience in helping tribes to achieve both short-term and long-term broadband goals, including identification of funding opportunities for infrastructure improvements, helping tribes to establish their own utility entities and/or Internet Service Providers (ISP), as well overseeing regulatory requirements through the Federal Communications Commission and other regulatory agencies for tribes with fully operational telecommunications entities.

We also recognize the importance of tribes exercising their digital sovereignty – through physical and virtual network infrastructure – along with the digital jurisdictional facets of retaining, storing, transmitting and accessing their data. Policy developments in this space are rapidly changing – our firm has the experience and expertise to advise tribes on these important policy developments.
