Our firm specializes in facilitating in the development and operation of gaming facilities for our clients. We handle the negotiation and drafting of agreements related to the financing, development, construction, and management of both new and existing gaming establishments. Our team works diligently to secure memorandums of understanding with local governments and have successfully negotiated Class III gaming compacts and amendments in several states.
We also have considerable experience in helping to develop tribal laws/codes needed to help regulate gaming on tribal lands. To this end, we have drafted tribal gaming ordinances, gaming regulations, and minimum internal control standards. Additionally, we offer guidance on procedures for conducting licensing and background investigations for vendors and employees.
We have also represented our clients’ interests before the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) in various matters, including enforcement actions, Class II and Class III regulatory issues, approval of management agreements, requests for declination of jurisdiction letters, and tribal rights to conduct gaming on land acquired under section 20 of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA).
